Clemson climbs recruiting rankings, strong run shows life for Dabo Swinney

Clemson has made up serious ground on the recruiting trail over the past week, and the national rankings are starting to reflect it.

After adding five new commitments in a short stretch, the Tigers have climbed into the Top 15 nationally for the 2027 cycle. It’s a notable jump considering where the class sat not long ago, and it gives Clemson plenty of momentum heading into a major official visit weekend.

The latest additions include Jarrell Chandler, Gary Walker, Jamarin Simmons, Carter Jones and Carter Blackwell. Walker, Simmons, Chandler and Jones all bring strong national profiles, while Blackwell adds another piece to a class that continues to build across multiple positions.

The recent surge comes at an important time for Clemson. Recruiting felt relatively quiet throughout much of the spring, especially compared to some of the other national programs making noise. That has changed quickly over the last several days.

Now, the Tigers head into a weekend loaded with visitors while holding 12 commitments in the 2027 class, with a chance to add more. Clemson has already moved past several major programs in the rankings and could continue rising if things break the right way over the next few weeks.

Regardless of which recruiting service someone follows, the overall picture looks the same — Clemson has picked up real momentum.

For a staff that was looking for some traction heading into the summer, this recent stretch has provided exactly that. And with several top targets still heavily in the mix, the Tigers may not be finished yet.
