The trouble began on June 9 when a man was severely injured in a street assault, resulting in a Sudanese individual facing multiple charges, including attempted murder. Following this incident, protests escalated into riots, prompting law enforcement to deploy water cannons and increase police presence to restore order. Many families have been displaced as rioters targeted foreign nationals, leading to significant community unrest.

According to reports from Dainik Jagran, the BCCI has expressed its concerns and is in constant communication with Irish cricket officials. An official from the board indicated that if conditions in Belfast do not improve, relocating the matches to a safer venue remains a viable option. However, the final decision will ultimately lie with Cricket Ireland.

Cricket Ireland is actively monitoring the situation and is in discussions with security authorities regarding local events. They plan to announce decisions about domestic fixtures within the next 48 hours, emphasizing that the safety of players and spectators is their top priority.
