Connor McCaffery Takes Coaching Position with G-League's Noblesville Boom

Coaching appears to run deep in the McCaffery family lineage. Fran McCaffery has dedicated 15 years as the head coach of Iowa's men’s basketball team, and now his son Connor is poised to embark on a significant coaching opportunity.

After wrapping up a successful six-year playing career with the Hawkeyes, Connor McCaffery has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Butler University. Now, he’s elevating his career by joining the Noblesville Boom, the G-League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, according to a report by Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files.

In his new role as a player development assistant, McCaffery brings a wealth of experience, having participated in 166 games during his time at Iowa and starting 89 of those contests. His leadership abilities, recognized by teammates throughout his collegiate journey, coupled with insights gained from his father, position him to make an immediate impact with the Boom.

This move also allows McCaffery to be closer to Caitlin Clark, a former Iowa standout and current player for the Indiana Fever, with the couple now just a short drive apart. As McCaffery steps into this role, he joins an organization eager to regain its status in the NBA and maintain competitiveness in the league.
