Why are there no double-headers on Saturday, May 2 in IPL 2026?
A total of 12 double-headers are scheduled to happen during the weekends in the IPL 2026 season, out of which eight have already been played in the month of April on Saturdays and Sundays.
However, going forward, as the season slowly approaches its business end, the number of double-headers will reduce and two games will be played only on Sunday in May until the end of the league stage.
Starting from May 2, double-headers will no longer be played on Saturdays. On the first Saturday of May 2026, IPL giants Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are all set to lock horns at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium, Chepaul in Chennai.
In their last encounter at the Wankhede Stadium earlier this month, CSK picked up a dominating win as they handed MI a 103-run loss, the biggest defeat in the franchise's history.
