Dallas Cowboys fans probably won't be too happy to hear this.

During a recent appearance on ESPN's Get Up, Cowboys legend Troy Aikman was discussing the Philadelphia Eagles' new-look offense under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion and he shared some high praise for Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts in the process.

Troy Aikman shares high praise for Jalen Hurts

Aikman thinks that Hurts will be asked to step outside of his usual comfort zone in Philadelphia's offensive attack under Manion, and he thinks that Hurts will be more than willing – and able – to do so.

"I think with where they're going this year, it will look different and I think that there will be more asked of Jalen Hurts to work the middle of the field, to maybe line up under center a little bit more in the play action game, and that's an offense that I'm a big believer in," Aikman said.

"And I believe Jalen can do anything he's asked to do. ... He's a quarterback who puts in the time to do everything he can to be his best. And so whatever he's been challenged with this offseason, I fully expect him to come out and play the kind of football that we're accustomed to seeing him play."

Hurts has been a polarizing player throughout his NFL career, mainly because of his sometimes pedestrian passing statistics. However, winning is the most important stat in football, and Hurts has done a whole lot of that.

Since Hurts became the full-time starter in Philly, the Eagles have made five consecutive playoff appearances and two Super Bowls appearances, including a victory in Super Bowl 59.

Hurts and the Eagles are coming off of an underwhelming 2025 season that ended with a Wild Card loss to the San Francisco 49ers. So there are some skeptics. But, Hurts has always responded well to doubt in the past, so there's no reason to believe that things will be different this time around.
