Danny Rohl Departs Rangers, Claims Stronger Future for Club
Newly appointed head coach of RB Salzburg, Danny Rohl, has stated that he leaves Rangers "in a stronger position" after an eight-month tenure with the club. The 37-year-old German manager played a pivotal role in rejuvenating the Ibrox side, guiding them back into the title race following a poor start under former coach Russell Martin. However, the season concluded on a sour note, as Rangers suffered defeats in four of their last five matches, ultimately finishing third, trailing behind Celtic and Hearts.
Rohl made the decision to end his two-and-a-half-year contract with Rangers to accept a three-year deal with Salzburg, who secured third place in the Austrian Bundesliga. Reflecting on his time at Rangers, he expressed gratitude through an Instagram post, stating, "As I move on to a new chapter, I wanted to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone connected with Rangers." He described his experience at the club as "an incredible honour" and acknowledged the unwavering support from players, staff, and fans alike.
In his farewell message, Rohl specifically thanked chairman Andrew Cavenagh and remarked, "I'm proud of the work we all did together over the past year. While there is always more to achieve, I believe the club is in a stronger position and well placed for what lies ahead." His departure marks a significant shift for Rangers as they look to build on this season's challenges.
