Dodgers Stars Snell and Hernandez Make Progress in Recovery at Dodger Stadium
On Sunday, Los Angeles Dodgers players Blake Snell and Teoscar Hernandez were spotted participating in workouts at Dodger Stadium. Snell has had a challenging season, having made just one start due to fatigue and later being placed on the injured list for loose bodies in his elbow. Hernandez, on the other hand, has been sidelined since May 27 due to a Grade 1 hamstring strain.
Blake Snell underwent a ‘NanoNeedle’ procedure nearly a month ago to address the loose bodies in his left elbow. The Dodgers are optimistic about his return to the mound this season. While the team has been thriving in his absence—sitting seven games ahead of the second-place San Diego Padres in the NL West—they are eager to have both players back in action.
The ‘NanoNeedle’ procedure is noted for causing less damage to surrounding tissues, potentially allowing Snell to recover quicker than the typical three-month timeline for such injuries. In a similar case, Detroit Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal had the same procedure and returned to play in less than a month.
As for Teoscar Hernandez, his recovery is progressing well, as his injury did not require surgery. The expected timeline for healing from a Grade 1 hamstring strain is around a month, putting him on track for a timely return. Prior to his injury, Hernandez had been performing strongly, boasting an OPS close to .900 in May and hitting three home runs along with 14 RBIs.
