Eagles Bid Farewell to A.J. Brown Following Trade to Patriots

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially traded star wide receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots, concluding a notable chapter in his career with the team. This move comes after a period of speculation linking Brown to the Patriots, particularly as the team sought cap relief following June 1.

In exchange for Brown, the Eagles received a first-round pick in 2028 and a fifth-round pick in 2027, marking the end of Brown’s impactful four years in Philadelphia. During his time with the Eagles, he played a crucial role in their Super Bowl triumph in the 2024-25 season.

Shortly after the trade was finalized, the Eagles expressed their gratitude to Brown, stating, “Thank you for everything, A.J.” Alongside this message, the team released a video tribute commemorating his contributions, highlighting “an incredible four seasons in Philly.”

Brown’s career, which began with the Tennessee Titans under coach Mike Vrabel, has seen him emerge as one of the NFL's elite receivers. He has achieved over 1,000 receiving yards in six of his seven seasons, with impressive career totals including 524 receptions, 8,029 receiving yards, and 56 touchdowns. His familiarity with Vrabel may facilitate a smooth transition to his new role with the Patriots, who recently appeared in the Super Bowl and feature a promising receiving group.
