Eagles Part Ways with Pro Bowl Defender and Two-Time Super Bowl Champion Following A.J. Brown Trade
The Philadelphia Eagles made headlines this week not only by trading A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots but also by releasing a notable defensive player. On Tuesday, the team announced the departure of veteran defensive end Brandon Graham, a distinguished Pro Bowl athlete and two-time Super Bowl champion.
Charean Williams from Pro Football Talk reported that the decision to release Graham was anticipated as a procedural move following the June 1 deadline linked to his contract. However, sources indicate that Graham could potentially rejoin the Eagles in the future.
The Eagles have bolstered their edge rusher lineup during the offseason by bringing in Jonathan Greenard and Arnold Ebiketie, complementing existing players like Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt. While Graham may not be the dominant player he once was, he still demonstrated his value last season, finishing with eight tackles and three sacks over nine games.
Although he announced his retirement after the Eagles' Super Bowl win against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2025, Graham chose to extend his career with the franchise that drafted him 13th overall in 2010. If the Eagles decide to bring him back, his experience and leadership could be instrumental in their quest for another championship title.
