Florentino Perez Sets Sights on Major €150 Million Transfer Ahead of Real Madrid Elections
Real Madrid's president, Florentino Perez, has announced his intention to pursue a major €150 million signing, reminiscent of the club's illustrious Galactico era that included stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka. This announcement comes as part of his strategy to outperform rival Enrique Riquelme's election campaign promises ahead of the club's upcoming presidential elections.
During his appearance on the program Horizonte, Perez dismissed Riquelme's assertions regarding a potential move for Erling Braut Haaland, stating, "Regarding Haaland, everyone has denied it, so it must be a bluff." He emphasized his desire to avoid any influences that could destabilize the club.
Perez confirmed that a formal bid would be made on Tuesday for a star player from a Champions League team, with expectations that the transfer fee will set a new record for Real Madrid. He hinted that the player is likely to be an attacking midfielder, stating, “It’s not Haaland,” and ruled out any targets from the Premier League, aiming instead for a signing that will rejuvenate excitement among fans.
Highlighting Madrid's remarkable financial position, Perez noted that the club is valued at approximately €10 billion, reinforcing his belief that Real Madrid continues to lead the way in both sports and business globally. As fans await the announcement on Tuesday, speculation is mounting about potential targets, particularly Paris Saint-Germain’s Joao Neves and Vitinha, both of whom could address the team's pressing needs in midfield.
Neves is recognized for his industrious play in the middle of the park, while Vitinha combines technical skill with the ability to maintain quick ball movement under pressure. Either player would fit seamlessly into Jose Mourinho's tactical framework, providing the control and dynamism that Real Madrid has been lacking since the transition from Toni Kroos.
