Florida Gators Baseball Secures Transfer Commitment from Kyle McDaniel
The Florida Gators baseball team has strengthened its roster by securing its first infielder from the transfer portal on Tuesday, June 16. Kyle McDaniel, previously with Utah Tech, announced his commitment via social media.
During his time at Utah Tech, McDaniel showcased impressive skills, boasting a .340 batting average, seven home runs, and a remarkable 53 runs batted in. Additionally, he demonstrated his speed on the bases with 17 stolen bases and a keen eye at the plate, drawing 43 walks.
This marks the fourth commitment for Florida from the transfer portal this offseason, and notably, it is also the second commitment announced on the same day, following left-handed pitcher Trey Morris from Oregon State. McDaniel holds the NCAA-era record at his former school for the longest on-base streak, which stands at an impressive 49 games, along with a notable 22-game hitting streak.
Primarily positioned at second base over the last two seasons, McDaniel began his collegiate career at third base. The Pahrump, Nevada native was recognized as a first-team All-WAC selection and has been a pivotal player for Utah Tech, earning all-conference honors in his most recent season. As he is eligible for the upcoming MLB Draft, McDaniel’s future in college baseball remains an exciting prospect.
