Freddie Freeman Joins Exclusive Club with 2,500th Hit as a Dodger
On June 9, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Freddie Freeman made history by recording his 2,500th career hit during a game against the Pirates at PNC Park. This achievement places Freeman among an elite group of only 102 players in Major League Baseball history to reach this significant milestone.
Freeman's landmark hit came in the seventh inning as he connected with a pitch from Pirates right-hander Brandan Bidois, driving in a run and marking the Dodgers' 10th score of the inning. Earlier in the game, he also contributed with a double against pitcher Paul Skenes.
The first baseman has been in outstanding form lately, boasting a batting average of .357 with six home runs and five doubles over his past 18 games. This new milestone follows closely on the heels of his 2,000th hit, which he achieved on June 25, 2023, with an RBI double against the Astros at Dodger Stadium.
In addition to his 2,500th hit, Freeman has celebrated several other key achievements while playing for the Dodgers, including his 300th career home run, his 400th double, and his 500th double, making him one of the youngest players to reach these milestones.
As of now, Freeman leads all active MLB players in hits, doubles, runs, RBIs, extra-base hits, and total bases. Since joining the Dodgers in 2022, he has amassed 796 hits, placing him second in the majors during that time frame, narrowly trailing Luis Arráez. Notably, Freeman is the first player since Manny Ramírez to achieve his 2,500th hit while wearing a Dodgers uniform.
Throughout his career, Freeman has recorded 1,305 hits on the road, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure. Against the Pirates specifically, he has tallied 89 hits in 38 games at PNC Park.
