Freiburg set to sign Japanese midfielder
SC Freiburg are set to sign Japanese midfielder Rihito Yamamoto, according to Het Nieuwsblad, Onze Mondial and transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri.
Het Nieuwsblad reports that Freiburg will pay €8 million to VV St. Truiden to bring the 24-year-old midfielder to Germany.
Olympique Lyonnais and VfL Wolfsburg have also been linked with Yamamoto.
He scored five goals and provided seven assists in 38 appearances in the 2025/26 season.
