Gallatin's McCarty Completes Undefeated Tennis Career with Fourth State Title
In a stunning display of skill, Gallatin senior Mason McCarty concluded his high school tennis journey with a flawless record, clinching his fourth consecutive boys singles championship on Saturday at Flathead Valley Community College. McCarty dominated the final match against Glacier junior Colton Mantovani, winning decisively with a score of 6-0, 6-0.
Throughout the tournament, McCarty showcased his prowess, allowing only three games against him overall and just one after the opening round. Mantovani, who recently transferred from Texas, advanced to the finals by overcoming Helena Capital's Cooper Laslovich in a hard-fought three-set match earlier in the day.
Glacier also had success in the girls doubles category, where Cassidy and Cadence Daniels rebounded from an earlier defeat to Billings West’s Piper Abrams and Marissa Bruyere, ultimately securing third place with a 6-4, 6-2 victory. In the team standings, CMR emerged as the boys champion with 23 points, followed closely by Gallatin with 18 and Bozeman with 16. Glacier finished in fourth place with 13 points.
On the girls’ side, Hellgate claimed the title with a total of 33 points, while Gallatin came in second with 26 points, and CMR took third with 20 points. Glacier rounded out the top four with 15 points. Other notable champions included CMR's Georgia Pike in girls singles, who triumphed over Hellgate's Elliotte Banzinger, and the duo of Wesley Banzinger and Emma Duman, who won girls doubles against Gallatin's Alex Mansour and Raena Wilson.
The Class AA State Tennis Tournament highlighted exceptional talent across the board, with McCarty's performance serving as a fitting culmination to his outstanding high school career.
