Louisiana baseball is hitting the road this week, continuing Sun Belt Conference play and doing so with a little momentum on its side.

Midweek play in the comforts of M.L. Tigue Moore Field was kind to the Ragin’ Cajuns (23-17, 7-11) who hosted Grambling State. They dominated the Tigers for a much-needed 15-7 win to end their two-game losing streak. Seventh-year head coach Matt Deggs will look for his team to come out swinging again this time against Arkansas State.

The last time these two teams faced off, it was the Red Wolves who came away with the 2-1 series win. Arkansas State (25-15, 9-9) comes into the series with momentum of its own, beating University of Louisiana- Monroe 2-1 in SBC play and a 20-10 win over Central Arkansas in midweek play.

With so much riding on this weekend when it comes to SBC standings, the Cajuns will look to get off to a fast start and right handed pitcher Cody Brasch will look to kickstart it on Friday.
