Hurricanes Secure Game 4 Victory Over Golden Knights, Leveling Stanley Cup Final
In an exhilarating Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final on Tuesday, the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 5-3, leveling the series at two games apiece. Forward Jordan Staal played a pivotal role, netting both his sixth and seventh goals of the playoffs during the match played in Las Vegas.
The decisive moment came with just over 13 minutes left in the game when Staal, after slipping on the ice, managed to score a gritty goal that ultimately secured the victory for Carolina. His performance was a highlight in a series filled with dramatic turns. Teammate Nikolaj Ehlers also contributed significantly, scoring once and providing two assists, while goalie Brandon Bussi, making his playoff debut, recorded 18 saves.
“A lot of kids grow up and they dream about doing something like this,” Bussi remarked during the ABC broadcast. “I’m honored to have the opportunity. It was a great effort by us tonight. Excited to get back to Raleigh, N.C.”
The Hurricanes jumped out to an early lead, outshooting the Golden Knights 14-6 in the first period. Logan Staknoven opened the scoring just 66 seconds into the game, followed shortly by Jackson Blake, who doubled the lead 2:22 later. Although Mark Stone of the Golden Knights managed to cut the lead in half, Staal responded with a power-play goal later in the period.
