Israel Hammons Joins Oklahoma State's 2027 Recruiting Class

Israel Hammons, a standout linebacker from Choctaw, Oklahoma, declared his commitment to the Oklahoma State football team on Friday. The four-star recruit is currently ranked as the 11th best linebacker in the nation for the 2027 class, according to 247Sports.

Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 226 pounds, Hammons showcased his skills last season, recording 68 tackles and eight sacks. His impressive performance helped lead Choctaw to a 9-5 record and a spot in the Class 6A-II state championship game.

Hammons becomes the ninth player to commit to the Cowboys for the 2027 class and is the third recruit from Oklahoma, joining fellow in-state commitments Bryson Brown, a defensive back from Broken Arrow, and Cooper Hooker, a receiver from Pryor. He has also received offers from several Power Five programs, including Texas, Texas Tech, and Ole Miss.

In a heartfelt message announcing his commitment, Hammons expressed gratitude, stating, “First off, I wanna thank God, My Coaches, Friends, and family for helping me to get to where I am today with that being said I’m announcing that I’m an 10000% committing to OKLAHOMA STATE 🧡🖤 #GoPokes #PistolsFiring.”
