The 2024 NBA Finals showcased Brunson's pivotal role in leading the Knicks to victory against the San Antonio Spurs, earning him the title of NBA champion and Finals MVP. His most significant contribution, however, came two years prior when he willingly forfeited up to $113 million in potential earnings to give the Knicks the financial flexibility necessary to assemble a championship-caliber team.
