Jamal Musiala Excited to Rejoin Germany Ahead of World Cup
HERZOGENAURACH, GERMANY - MAY 30: Jamal Musiala addressed the media during a press conference at Homeground on May 30, 2026, in Herzogenaurach, Germany. The German national team is currently training in Herzogenaurach as they gear up for international friendly matches before their journey to the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Bayern Munich midfielder expressed his excitement about returning to the national squad. “I’m really happy. It feels like I haven’t been here in a very long time. The first few days have been great, the atmosphere in the team – I’m really enjoying myself here,” Musiala stated, as reported by @iMiaSanMia. He noted that the team dynamics have improved since the European Championships, saying, “The team has gelled a bit better since the EUROs, the automatisms are very similar, sometimes even identical.”
Musiala highlighted the increased efficiency in their training sessions, mentioning, “Now we notice that when we repeat things, it doesn’t take as long for them to work well as before. Now it’s very harmonious, everyone gets along well.”
A key aspect of his return that Musiala is particularly eager about is reuniting with Liverpool's Florian Wirtz. “I’ve missed playing with him, it’s really fun to be on the pitch with him. Now the focus is entirely on Finland, but we’re already looking forward to playing at the World Cup together,” he added.
As Germany prepares for their upcoming matches, the team is hoping to build momentum ahead of the prestigious tournament.
