Jordi Alba Lauds Luis Enrique as the Top Coach of His Career
Former FC Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has expressed high admiration for Luis Enrique, calling him the finest manager he has ever worked with. Currently celebrating another Champions League victory with Paris Saint-Germain, Alba highlighted the exceptional atmosphere Enrique fosters within the team.
"For me, Luis Enrique is the best. He gets all the players to pull together, even those who don’t play. You feel happy for your teammates, for the team. Not everyone can do that. In that sense, he’s a star," Alba stated during a conversation with Mario Suarez on the podcast El Camino de Mario.
Alba emphasized Enrique’s remarkable ability to manage a diverse group of players. He noted that the coach is both approachable and demanding, insisting on peak performance from his squad. "If you don’t do what he says, someone else takes your place. He doesn’t care about names, what you’ve done in football… he sees the present,” Alba remarked.
In addition to his praise for Enrique, Alba also reflected on his time under Xavi Hernandez, acknowledging the challenging context in which Xavi took over the team. "Xavi Hernández came in at a very difficult time. He took on the responsibility and did quite well," Alba commented. Under Xavi, the team secured both La Liga and the Super Cup against rivals Real Madrid, showcasing his effective management during a pivotal period.
