Justin Allgaier Marks Nashville Victory with a Dive into the Cumberland River
LEBANON – Justin Allgaier celebrated his recent triumph by winning his third Gibson Guitar trophy at the Sports Illustrated Resorts 250 held at Nashville Superspeedway on May 30. His unique way of celebrating? He plans to take a plunge into the Cumberland River.
Allgaier has signed up to participate in the Ashley Whitney Music City Triathlon on May 31, starting the race by leaping off the General Jackson Showboat at 7:30 a.m. He humorously reflected on his decision, saying, "If I'm being honest, it's not the smartest decision I've ever made in my life." He explained that it was a spontaneous choice made with friends from his running group, who collectively deemed it a fun idea.
Despite his enthusiasm, Allgaier admitted, "I can't swim. I can swim at a pool party, but it's not my strength." He noted that he and his friends only decided to join the triathlon two weeks ago, prompting him to start practicing swimming at a local lake.
Allgaier's victory at the Nashville Superspeedway marked his second consecutive win in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, where he led an impressive 50 laps. The excitement surrounding his dual achievements has certainly set the stage for a memorable weekend.
