Juventus is steadfast in its pursuit of Emi Martinez, the goalkeeper from Aston Villa, as the club navigates a recent shift in its front office. This commitment remains unchanged despite the announcement of CEO Damien Comolli's departure, with Sassuolo's Giovanni Carnevali poised to take over the role.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, Juventus continues to prioritize Martinez, who reportedly reached a personal agreement with the club earlier this week. Di Marzio noted that the 33-year-old "is very committed and wants only Juventus," suggesting that his discussions with manager Luciano Spalletti have significantly influenced his decision, even amidst the recent management transition.
In addition, reports indicate that Martinez is actively searching for a residence in Turin, which may hint at his eagerness to join the club. It’s possible that he has consulted with fellow World Cup teammates such as Angel Di Maria or Paulo Dybala about potential neighborhoods.
The main challenge ahead for Juventus will be negotiating a transfer fee with Aston Villa. With Carnevali now at the helm, he will likely engage in discussions alongside sporting director Marco Ottolini. Juventus is reportedly cautious about overextending financially for Martinez, who has a substantial contract with Villa. Nevertheless, Carnevali is eager to make a strong start in his new role by securing a key player that Spalletti desires.
