Kentucky coach Mark Pope had the worst possible social media idea

To say it has been a disappointing offseason so far for the Kentucky Wildcats would be a massive understatement. Coach Mark Pope has had one public relations nightmare after another as he has missed on one player after another both in recruiting and in the transfer portal.

The Tyran Stokes pursuit ended in his most recent loss, but multiple 2026 recruits were predicted to land with Kentucky, only for them to slip through his grasp. He was left with only two high school recruits, neither of which were ranked in the top 100, though both have terrific potential down the line.

The transfer portal hasn't been much kinder. He landed a couple of solid players who should contribute, but still lacks a proven difference-maker, and may still lose center Malachi Moreno to the NBA draft.

In the midst of all this turmoil, which has Big Blue Nation vocally upset, Pope decided to go on X and ask for questions from fans. If you think that's a bad idea, you wouldn't be alone. There were some good questions about next year's roster, but, as expected, there were a whole lot of angry Wildcats fans unhappy with the way the offseason has played out.

Here is a sampling of the good, the bad, and the ugly (that were printable) that Pope inevitably got in his mentions.

Fair questions

And the not so good...
