Knoxville Smokies Dominate with Six Home Runs in Thrilling Victory
The Knoxville Smokies showcased an explosive performance, overpowering the Birmingham Barons with a decisive 14-5 victory. This exciting game took place at Covenant Health Park, where the Smokies hit a remarkable six home runs, solidifying their offensive prowess.
Jefferson Rojas led the charge for Knoxville, hitting two solo home runs, one in the first inning and another in the seventh, marking his seventh and eighth homers of the season. Rojas finished the game with a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, which included a double, three runs scored, and three RBIs. His first home run was particularly notable, as it became the first ever to clear the Yardley Flats at Covenant Health Park.
Designated hitter Owen Ayers also contributed significantly, going 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in the third inning, bringing his season total to nine. Left fielder Carter Trice matched Ayers with his own two-run shot in the fifth, while center fielder Andy Garriola added a three-run homer, his team-leading 11th of the year.
