LSU baseball vs Florida game score – Live updates from game 2 of series

BATON ROUGE – LSU baseball has scored eight or more runs in six of its last 10 SEC games.

It's record in those six games is 0-6.

After the Tigers couldn't complete the comeback against No. 20 Florida in the series opener to lose, 11-8, at Alex Box Stadium Thursday night, Jay Johnson talked about how the team's pitching hasn't met the offense with the improvement it has made in the second half of the season.

"You look at it on the surface and you go, 'Great night on offense,'" Johnson said after his team's defeat. "Three of those (pitchers) we faced are going to the Major Leagues. We can be better. I think eight runs should win.

"We're struggling with walks. You have to earn your walks, but we gave them a lot tonight."

The Tigers (29-25, 9-19 SEC) will now to try to even the series against the Gators (35-18, 16-12) going against their hardest thrower in junior right-hander Liam Peterson.

LSU will throw freshman Marcos Paz, who has been performing well of late but did have a rough outing last weekend at Georgia.
