LSU football pushing to flip elite wide receiver from SEC rival
For the second time in two weeks, five-star prospect Easton Royal visited LSU football. The 2027 wide receiver, despite being committed to Texas, continues to keep his options open as the spring goes on.
Louisiana's No. 1 prospect in the 2027 cycle, Royal, hails from New Orleans. Rivals' Industry Rankings slots him at No. 2 among wide receivers and No. 10 overall. He plays high school football at Brother Martin.
Since head coach Lane Kiffin arrived at LSU, he has made Royal a priority. The pair built a relationship on the recruiting trail when Kiffin was at Ole Miss, but Kiffin cranked up the pressure when he made the move to Baton Rouge.
Royal is an elite prospect. Louisiana has a history of producing top-tier talent at wide receiver and the Tigers usually don't let players of Royal's caliber leave the state. If LSU can pull off the flip, it would be massive for LSU's wide receiver room. Kiffin took the LSU job because of the in-state talent Louisiana had to offer. Royal is just another example of that.
The talented wideout shared photos from his visit on his social media accounts.
