Mariners' Randy Arozarena Exits Game with Possible Leg Injury
WASHINGTON (AP) — Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena had to leave the game against the Washington Nationals on Friday evening due to a suspected leg injury. The 31-year-old player began to show signs of discomfort after sprinting to first base on a ground ball during the third inning, ultimately leading to his departure from the field.
Arozarena did not return for the bottom of the inning, prompting Luke Raley to shift from right field to take over Arozarena's position in left, while Victor Robles stepped in to play right field.
Currently, Arozarena boasts an impressive batting average of .291, along with seven home runs and 33 RBIs this season. He also recorded his 19th stolen base earlier in the second inning. Arozarena is among just three Mariners players to participate in every game this season, alongside outfielder Julio Rodríguez and second baseman Cole Young.
