The New York Mets' season has started to improve a bit, but that doesn't mean things will change any time soon, especially with some of their new players needing to step up. One guy who continues to struggle is infielder Bo Bichette, the former Toronto Blue Jays star who looks like a shell of himself in New York.
Whether that's because playing in New York is much different than playing in Toronto, or he doesn't feel comfortable in the Big Apple, Bichette is hitting just .210 on the year with only two home runs. He also has 34 strikeouts in 186 at-bats, walking 20 fewer times.
Looking ahead to what this could mean for Bichette, many people believe the Mets will look to move him. One team that's now popped up is the Milwaukee Brewers, and they'd make a lot of sense for his services.
“While Bichette is currently hitting .218, there is reason to believe a change of scenery would breathe life back into his bat. Leaving the pressure cooker that is New York would be a great start and help Bichette return to the .290 hitter he has been throughout his career. It would be the exact boost the Brewers need and give Bichette a chance to play meaningful September and October baseball,” Nick Halden wrote.
When Bichette is playing at the top of his game, he's definitely one of those guys who would fit into what Milwaukee is looking to do.
He swings the bat at a high level, plays the game the right way, and seems to be loved by a lot of fans.
His defensive problems don't necessarily make teams happy to have him, but the Brewers need help on the left side of the infield, so if they can deal with some of those problems and he starts swinging it at the level we all know he can, he'd really be a nice fit.
