Minor league update for 5/4/26
Arizona Complex League play began on Monday.
Jacob Johnson, the Rangers’ 11th round pick in 2025, made his professional debut, striking out eight in three innings while allowing two runs. Case Matter, who has spent all season on the injured list and who is on a rehab assignment, threw a shutout inning, and then allowed three runs without retiring anyone in the next inning. He struck out two and walked one.
Seong-Jung Kim homered. Josh Owens had a hit. Elorky Rodriguez was 1 for 3 with a double and a pair of walks. 2025 20th rounder Jay McQueen had a hit, three walks and a stolen base. Rashawn Pinder had a hit and a pair of stolen bases.
