Missouri football Week 3 matchup will be stadium 100th anniversary game

Memorial Stadium’s 100th-anniversary celebrations will take place in Week 3 of the 2026 season.

Missouri athletics announced Tuesday that it has designated Mizzou football’s Sept. 19 game against Troy as the stadium’s 100th Anniversary Game. According to a news release, there will be special recognitions, commemorative moments and fan activations for the event that will be announced later this summer.

Before the century celebrations, the athletic department also said it will release commemorative memorabilia items and exclusive merchandise collections honoring the history of the stadium.

The 100th anniversary coincides with the expected completion of a major renovation to the north end zone of the stadium that became Mizzou’s home in 1926.

A $250-million renovation to the stadium’s north concourse is expected to be completed ahead of the 2026 season, which will add premium seating above Faurot Field’s north end zone. Construction has been ongoing since a groundbreaking ceremony in November 2024.

Missouri also said in its release that it has made “improvements” to the stadium’s east and west concourse over this offseason.

The 100th anniversary game will not be Mizzou’s first matchup in the new-look grounds. The Tigers open their season against Arkansas Pine-Bluff on Thursday, Sept. 3, in Columbia, which will be the first game in front of the completed north end zone project. Missouri takes on Kansas on the road on Friday, Sept. 11.

Mizzou is also in the process of seeking out corporate naming rights for the stadium, which means that the stadium soon will have a new name and sponsor.

Speaking at Mizzou’s Zou to You caravan stop in St. Charles in April, Missouri athletic director Laird Veatch said he doesn’t “necessarily see us making an announcement before this year.”

Missouri will play seven home games in the 2026 season, which will be head coach Eli Drinkwitz’s seventh year in Columbia.

After finishing their nonconference slate with the 100th anniversary game against Troy, the Tigers will also host Florida for homecoming on Oct. 3, Texas A&M on Oct. 10, Texas on Nov. 7, Kentucky on Nov. 21 and Oklahoma to end the regular season on Nov. 28.

The Tigers travel to face Kansas (Sept. 11), Mississippi State (Sept. 26), Ole Miss (Oct. 17), Arkansas (Oct. 31) and Georgia (Nov. 14) this year.
