National Champion Rosemary Longisa Moves to Iowa State After NCAA Victory
Just days after clinching a national championship with Washington State, Rosemary Longisa has made a significant move to Iowa State. The Cyclones track and field program confirmed on Wednesday that Longisa, who recently triumphed in the 1,500-meter event, has officially joined their ranks.
This transfer aligns with Longisa's decision to follow her coach, Laura Harmon, who was appointed as Iowa State's new cross country head coach and assistant track coach. Harmon previously held a similar position at Washington State for four seasons.
Longisa, a sophomore hailing from Kenya, has had an impressive season, finishing as the national runner-up in the mile at the NCAA Indoor Championships earlier this year. This spring, she recorded the fastest time among all women in the United States for the outdoor 1,500 meters, marking the second-best time in NCAA women's history. Her remarkable performance culminated in a national title victory in Eugene last Saturday.
This transition comes as Longisa seeks new challenges and opportunities with the Cyclones, aiming to build on her recent successes.
