Nelly Korda and Kim Sei-young Co-Lead After Third Round of US Women's Open

World number one Nelly Korda has positioned herself for a thrilling final round at the US Women's Open, currently tied for the lead alongside Kim Sei-young. Korda achieved a remarkable four-under par 67 on Saturday at the prestigious Riviera Country Club, finishing the day with a total score of six-under 207.

After starting the tournament with a two-over 73, Korda significantly improved her game, recording her second consecutive round of 67. This performance places her in a strong position to secure her second major title of the year, following her victory at the Chevron Championship in April. "It's always amazing to be in this position," Korda remarked, as she aims for her third career major title.

Korda's round was highlighted by birdies on the last three holes, showcasing her skill and resilience. She began her day with a notable chip-in birdie at the third hole and later made an impressive 18-foot putt at the sixth. Although she encountered a setback with a bogey on the eighth, she rebounded strongly with birdies on 16, 17, and 18. "I’m really happy with how I grinded out the front nine and then took the opportunities that I had on the last three holes," she noted.

Joining Korda at the top of the leaderboard is South Korea's Kim Sei-young, who shot a three-under par 68. Kim, a seasoned competitor with 13 LPGA titles, including a major win at the 2020 Women's PGA Championship, started strong with birdies on the 10th and 12th holes. Though she faced a minor setback with a bogey on the 15th, she quickly recovered with a birdie on the 17th. "It has been a long time since I won a major championship, so maybe I'll play under pressure tomorrow," Kim said, expressing her determination for the final round.

The competition remains fierce, with Chun In-gee and Jennifer Kupcho trailing the leaders by just one stroke after both shot 69. Chun began her round with an eagle and quickly tied for the lead, while Kupcho navigated her day with ups and downs, ultimately finishing strong. Meanwhile, overnight co-leader Yin Ruoning from China settled for an even par 71, placing her in a tie for fifth alongside Japan's Nasa Hataoka and Mexico's Gaby Lopez.
