Ohio State Basketball Set for Home-and-Home Series with Vanderbilt

The Ohio State basketball team's upcoming schedule is starting to take shape, highlighted by a newly announced home-and-home series with Vanderbilt University. According to Rocco Miller from The Field of 68, the Buckeyes will face the Commodores over the next two seasons, kicking off the series in Columbus on November 24 this year.

Historically, Ohio State and Vanderbilt have met only twice on the court, with the Commodores emerging victorious in both encounters back in 1988 and 1989. This matchup marks a long-awaited return for both teams, as they have not competed against each other for quite some time.

Vanderbilt had an impressive run last season, finishing with a record of 27-9 and receiving a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Their postseason journey ended in a close second-round battle against Nebraska, which they lost by a narrow margin of 74-72. The addition of Vanderbilt to the nonconference schedule complements a series of challenging games for the Buckeyes, including contests against BYU in Salt Lake City, Kansas during the CBS Sports Classic, and matchups against Notre Dame and UConn.

This season's Ohio State team will showcase a significantly revamped lineup compared to last year's squad, which exited the NCAA Tournament in the first round. While the roster features promising talent, analysts are eager to see how these components will mesh. Fans will get their first glimpse of the new team when Ohio State opens the season against BYU on November 2.
