OHSAA Baseball State Tournament Day 2 Highlights
The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) baseball state tournament continued with exciting matchups across multiple divisions on Thursday and Friday, showcasing the best high school talent in the state.
At Credit Union Park in Akron, the Division I semifinals featured Moeller edging out Perrysburg with a score of 8-6, while St. Xavier secured a decisive 5-0 victory over Olentangy Orange. The championship game held on Friday saw St. Xavier triumph over Moeller, finishing with a 4-2 scoreline.
In Division II, New Albany defeated Harrison 4-1 and Walsh Jesuit narrowly bested North Canton Hoover 3-2 in the semifinals. The championship match is set for Saturday evening, pitting Walsh Jesuit against New Albany at 7 p.m. in Akron.
Division III saw Badin claim a 5-2 victory over Parma Padua Franciscan and Bishop Watterson winning against Cuyahoga Valley Christian 5-1 in the semifinals. Badin went on to capture their first state title since 1996, defeating Bishop Watterson 7-2 in the final.
As the tournament progresses, Division IV semifinals will take place on Saturday morning at Credit Union Park, featuring Sandusky Perkins against Youngstown Cardinal Mooney and Fenwick facing Fairfield Union.
The tournament highlights the culmination of a season filled with hard work and dedication, as teams compete for the coveted state championship titles.
