The Smokies split the series, losing the first game 10-6 but bouncing back to win the second 10-8.

In game one, Ayers excelled at the plate, going 4 for 4 with three doubles and driving in three runs. His offensive prowess continued in the second game, where he contributed with an RBI single in the first inning and later hit a two-run home run in the sixth, marking his 17th homer of the season.
