Packers Stars Swing for a Cause in Charity Softball Showdown

GRAND CHUTE – On June 5, enthusiastic Green Bay Packers supporters gathered at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium for the annual Green Bay Charity Softball Game, co-hosted by Packers quarterback Jordan Love and linebacker Micah Parsons. The event aimed to generate funds for Love’s Hands of 10ve Foundation, which focuses on enhancing children's physical and mental health through sports, promoting suicide prevention awareness, and strengthening community-police relations, alongside support for Parsons' Lion Heart Foundation.

Former Packers great Donald Driver, who has been a staple at the event in past years, was present to engage with fans. "We’re here for the fans," Love stated. "Obviously, providing for the foundation and charity game that’s giving back. They love to see the players. They love to have that fan engagement. Sign autographs and have that time to meet the fans here in the summertime."

Though Parsons is still in recovery from a torn ACL and did not participate in the game, he took on the role of coach for Team Defense, approaching the task with dedication. "First I was just 'ha ha' because I’m not playing, but now I’m taking it a little more seriously. I’m looking at it as a general manager position,” he remarked, even warming up his team with ground balls before the event.

Before the main event, players showcased their skills in a home run derby, where offensive lineman Darian Kinnard emerged victorious with four home runs, while Brant Banks secured second place with three. The game itself saw Team Offense dominating Team Defense with a score of 12-2, earning the coveted WWE-style Packers belt. "We knew they would be talking a big talk, and we backed it up on the field," Love commented proudly. "Belt is coming home with the offense."
