Palm Beach Baseball Honors Top Players and Coach for the Season
The Palm Beach baseball scene has recognized its standout athletes for the 7A-5A divisions, celebrating exceptional talents in the first team, second team, honorable mentions, and naming the Coach of the Year.
Leading the first team is Blake Bagwell, a senior infielder from Park Vista, who showcased his impressive batting with a .355 average, complemented by 13 walks and 12 strikeouts. Tayegan Briskey of West Boca Raton also made a mark as a senior outfielder, hitting .370 with two home runs and leading the area with 35 stolen bases.
Other notable players include Hunter Bruce, a junior outfielder from Park Vista, who recorded a .359 batting average, and Lemay Cortina, a junior pitcher from John I. Leonard, who boasted a remarkable 1.26 ERA with 63 strikeouts in 44.1 innings. Owen Dever, another senior from Park Vista, contributed power with a .383 average, while Tony Bieber of Palm Beach Gardens excelled both at bat and on the mound.
Among the second team selections are Rocco Bianco from Dwyer, Michael Blow, a freshman pitcher from Boca Raton, and several others who made significant impacts throughout the season. Honorable mentions include players from various schools, showcasing the depth of talent across the Palm Beach area.
Recognizing excellence beyond the players, Casey Beck of John I. Leonard was named Coach of the Year after leading his team to only its second winning season since 2014, finishing with a record of 10-6.
