Pierce City boys edge Stockton for C2D6 track title
LAMAR, Mo. — The Pierce City boys bested Stockton to earn the boys Class 2 District 6 track and field title last weekend in Lamar.
Pierce City racked up 119 points, three more than Stockton. Miller was third with 83 points, Sarcoxie fourth with 81 and McAuley Catholic was fifth with 71 points.

Pierce City’s Eli Genzler won the 300-meter hurdles (41.59 seconds) and was runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles (16.2).
Pierce City claimed a 2-3 finish in the pole vault. Brock Flehmer was second (3.8 meters) and Levi Knight (3.6 meters) was third.
Genzler, Landon Iman, Maxwell Brown and Dyllan Kleiboeker combined to finish second in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 45.12 seconds.
Genzler was runner-up in the high jump (1.83 meters).
Eli Adams earned third place in the 1,600-meter run (5:00.48) and Ethan Dewitt logged a personal best 12.86 meters to finish third in the shot put.
Sarcoxie
Sarcoxie’s Gatlon Malotte won the 110-meter hurdles (15.46) and also claimed the district title in the pole vault (3.9 meters).
Malotte, Wyatt Root, Austin Hirts and Joshua Hoffman finished second in the 4x200-meter relay (1:32.55).
Hirtz (11.62 seconds) was third in the 100-meter dash and Abel Ibarra earned third in the 110-meter hurdles with a personal best 16.32 seconds.
McAuley Catholic
McAuley’s Trae Veer won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:07.01 and the 3,200-meter event (10:39.59). Veer also was runner-up in the 400-meter race with a 51.81-second performance.
Trae Veer, Connor Taffner, Rowen Veer and Azaarel Villanueva won the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 8:57.56.
Taffner was third in the 800-meter run (2:11.14).
New Height Christian Academy
New Heights’ Derek Bowman was second in the 300-meter hurdles (42.09).
