Rams Eye Further Roster Enhancements After Myles Garrett Acquisition
The Los Angeles Rams have emerged as the clear favorites to clinch the Super Bowl LXI title following their significant trade for defensive star Myles Garrett. While the team seems well-equipped, CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani suggests that they might not be finished making moves this offseason.
Many fans expressed disappointment when the Rams opted for Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson instead of adding another offensive weapon like USC's Makai Lemon or Oregon's Kenyon Sadiq with their 13th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Dajani believes the Rams could still appease their supporters by pursuing former All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
“They are a team that’s all-in for a Super Bowl in 2026,” Dajani noted. He highlighted the Rams' enhancements, including the addition of Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson to their secondary, as well as the blockbuster acquisition of Garrett, who had an impressive season last year with a record-setting 23 sacks.
The Rams boasted the top offense in the league last season, led by MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford and standout receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Despite this offensive prowess, the team showed interest in A.J. Brown earlier this offseason, indicating they may still seek another playmaker. Although Diggs has transitioned from his peak performance, he could still be a valuable asset in Los Angeles, especially alongside the existing offensive talent.
Diggs, now a free agent after being released by the New England Patriots, had a solid 2025 season with 85 receptions, 1,013 yards, and four touchdowns. Over the past eight years, he has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark seven times. If he can maintain a production level of 800 to 1,000 yards, the Rams could potentially form the most formidable trio of wide receivers in the NFL.
