Rashee Rice Set for Release from Jail on Tuesday

Wide receiver Rashee Rice is on track to be released from jail on Tuesday, June 16, after missing the Kansas City Chiefs' offseason training activities and mandatory minicamp. According to KCUR, Rice was mandated to serve a 30-day jail sentence following a positive THC test.

Last month, Rice was sentenced to a 30-day term as part of a five-year probation stemming from a street-racing incident in March 2024, where he pleaded guilty to two felony charges. His release comes after he received permission to leave the facility for knee rehabilitation, following surgery prior to his imprisonment, based on a court order issued on May 28.

In addition, Rice's lawyer successfully requested that he be moved from an isolated cell to the general population within the jail. Despite his probation violation, the NFL has not indicated any intention to impose additional sanctions on Rice. He previously faced a six-game suspension for the first part of the 2025 season due to his guilty plea.
