Red Sox Dream Trade Target Is Absolutely Crushing Right Now

The Boston Red Sox need more offense and are looking around for a right-handed bat. 

Red Sox president and chief executive officer Sam Kennedy made it clear that the club has already started having trade conversations. 

"There has been conversations going on earlier than ever before on that front," Kennedy said. "It's obviously hard. The American League is so bunched up. There's some National League teams that are, I'd say, more engaged in conversations than typical at this time of the year. If the question is [Craig Breslow] and his team in baseball operations trying to improve the team right now, the answer is yes.

When it comes to the trade market, one player who would be a dream and was connected to the club this past offseason would be Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte. He was linked to Boston this past offseason, but the Diamondbacks held onto him. 

He was a perfect target this past offseason and is even more so now with Marcelo Mayer heading over to shortstop. Marte would give this team everything it needs, plus he's red-hot at the plate right now.
