Rising Star: Ashirvad Sooryavanshi Shines with Century in Local Match
The Sooryavanshi family continues to make waves in the cricketing world, as 10-year-old Ashirvad Sooryavanshi recently showcased his talent by scoring a remarkable century during a local practice match. While his older brother Vaibhav is currently making headlines in Sri Lanka with India A, Ashirvad's impressive performance is drawing attention back home.
Competing for Cricket Academy Tajpur in Samastipur, Ashirvad scored an impressive 103 runs off 87 deliveries. His innings included 20 boundaries and a six, resulting in a strike rate of 118.39. This stellar performance contributed significantly to his team’s total of 234 for 4 in just under 30 overs, with Shivam Raj also making a noteworthy contribution of 52 runs.
Vaibhav, who is busy with the Tri-Nation A Series against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A, took to Instagram to celebrate his younger brother’s achievement. He shared the scorecard and expressed his pride with the message, “Congratulations, Ashirvad.”
In a season filled with accolades, Vaibhav's own achievements in the IPL 2026 include winning the Orange Cap with 776 runs and earning titles such as Most Valuable Player and Emerging Player of the Year. His remarkable performance has secured him a spot in India’s T20I squad for upcoming tours and the Asian Games, where he made history as the youngest player selected at just 15 years and 71 days.
Ashirvad's century is not merely an individual accomplishment; it reflects the strong cricketing environment fostered within the Sooryavanshi family. Given the right guidance and training, he could very well follow in his brother's footsteps and emerge as another exceptional talent for Indian cricket in the future.
