Rutgers Scarlet Knights Reveal 2026-2027 Women's Basketball Opponents
Today, the Big Ten Conference unveiled the lineup of opponents for the upcoming 2026-2027 women's basketball season, highlighting which teams the Rutgers Scarlet Knights will face both at home and on the road.
Rutgers will host the following teams at Jersey Mike's Arena: Illinois, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, UCLA, and USC. On the road, they will visit Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington, and Oregon. Additionally, the Scarlet Knights will compete against Penn State in both home and away games, marking the third consecutive year these two teams will meet twice on the court.
Unlike the men's basketball program, which will engage in 20 conference games next season, the women's team will participate in 18 games. This discrepancy is reflected in their schedule, as women’s basketball features just one opponent for home-and-home matchups, compared to the men’s three.
The previous season showcased the Big Ten as a top-tier conference, with 12 of its 18 teams qualifying for the NCAA tournament. Despite finishing last in the conference with only one win last year, Rutgers is poised for a turnaround. With the hiring of new head coach Gary Redus II and the addition of experienced talent from the transfer portal, there are optimistic expectations for the team’s progress in the upcoming season.
