Saints Gear Up for Premier Final Clash Against Exeter Chiefs

Northampton Saints are poised to make their way to Twickenham for the Premiership final this Saturday, marking their second appearance in three years. The Saints secured their spot by defeating fierce rivals Leicester Tigers in an exciting semi-final match at Franklin's Gardens last Friday.

They will face Exeter Chiefs, who pulled off a surprising victory against Bath in the other semi-final. Having previously triumphed in 2014 and 2024, Northampton aims to claim their third English title, with nearly 80,000 fans expected to attend the final.

Phil Dowson's Saints dominated the league, finishing at the top of the table during the regular season, which granted them home advantage for their semi-final win. This season has been a remarkable turnaround for the team, especially after they ended the last campaign in eighth place, despite reaching the Champions Cup final. The Saints won 14 out of 18 league matches this year, placing them ahead of Exeter by two spots and nine points.

The final will be a rematch of their season opener, which ended in a dramatic 33-33 draw following a remarkable comeback by the Chiefs. Fans planning to travel by train should be aware of engineering work affecting the Midland Mainline, with no services running between Bedford and London over the next two weekends. However, trains from Northampton will remain unaffected.

While the club's coach travel has sold out, a limited number of tickets are still available through Premiership Rugby, despite Northampton's own allocation being fully booked. Coverage of the final will be provided by BBC Radio Northampton, starting from 10:00 BST, with live commentary beginning at 15:00. Viewers can also catch the match live on TNT Sports and ITV4.
