He stands as one of only two athletes to surpass the 1 million vote mark, with Houston Astros' Yordan Alvarez following closely behind as the American League’s leading vote recipient at 1,015,768 votes for the same position.

The initial phase of fan voting will determine the starting players for both leagues, while subsequent voting will commence on June 29 to finalize selections for the remaining positions. Notably, while Ohtani is a strong contender for an MVP and Cy Young award this season, his potential role as a pitcher will not be influenced by fan votes—those decisions will rely on player ballots and the commissioner’s office.
