Sophie Cunningham Hopes Team Has Moved On After Clark-White Incident

Sophie Cunningham, a guard for the Fever, shared insights from the meeting, saying, “We had a team meeting, a long meeting, and so hopefully we’ve kind of turned the page. I think we were in there an hour and a half, almost two hours, and we peeled back all of the layers. I think everyone’s on a good page right now and ready to work.”

What initially started as a session for coaches evolved into a team-wide discussion, which Cunningham noted was necessary following the viral moment captured between Clark and White. As the Fever prepare for their match against the Eastern Conference-leading Dream, they aim to defend their title in the Commissioner’s Cup, which began earlier this week.

In their last outing, the Dream signaled their intent by defeating the Connecticut Sun 91-75, with standout performances from Rhyne Howard, who scored 36 points, and Allisha Gray, who added 26 points. The Fever will look to improve their performance against Atlanta, having split their regular-season series last year.

Clark, who has faced challenges this season with a mix of strong offensive plays and defensive struggles, was sidelined for the rest of the 2025 season due to injury. She now prepares for a fresh start in her ongoing rivalry with Reese, who joined the Dream after being traded from the Chicago Sky.
