Sporting CP could make move for Bayern Munich loanee João Palhinha

According to a report from A Bola (as captured by @iMiaSaMia), Sporting CP might be contemplating a move for Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha, who has spent the season on loan with Tottenham Hotspur:

Sporting CP are interested in the possibility of bringing back João Palhinha in case Tottenham decided against signing him permanently. Sporting would look for a loan deal or try to drive the €30m price tag down.

Palhinha has no future with Bayern Munich and an outright sale of the midfielder would be a good move for the Bavarians, but after spending an astounding €55 million back in 2024, the German Rekordmeister seems to want to recoup a decent amount of that expense.

Palhinha’s season at Tottenham Hotspur was up-and-down, but it is quickly becoming time for the Bavarians to explore cutting their losses. Whatever compelled Bayern Munich to acquire Palhinha in the first place is long gone and any income the club can generate would be a plus at this point.
