Star-studded roster highlights milestone Iverson showcase
The 10th annual Allen Iverson All-American Game lit up the Hampton Coliseum, giving fans a chance to see some of the nation’s top college-bound talent on one stage.
One of the premier showcases in high school basketball, the event continues to provide elite athletes with national exposure before they take the next step at the collegiate level.
Last year’s roster featured standouts like Darius Acuff Jr. and Khiyan Anthony.
This year’s lineup was just as loaded.
Among the headliners were Adonis Ratliff and Darius Ratliff, the 7-foot sons of former NBA standout Theo Ratliff, who played alongside Allen Iverson on the Philadelphia 76ers.
Other notable names included Tajh Ariza, the son of former NBA champion Trevor Ariza, who is committed to University of Oregon, as well as Deron Rippey Jr., a commit to Duke University, and Marcis Ponder, a Springfield native headed to Florida State University.
Now in its 10th year, the showcase continues to bring the nation’s top high school basketball talent to Hampton Roads.
Before tipoff, Iverson was honored by Jimmy Gray and the City of Hampton for his impact through the event, with May 2 officially proclaimed Allen Iverson Day.
Iverson, along with Bobby Scott, shared their thoughts on the milestone moment.
