Speculations are swirling around Indiana fever. There are rumors of a rift between Caitlin Clark and head coach Stephanie white. It started when in a game, Clark and White argued with each other on court about some strategy. Then Clark was left out of the squad and the announcement was made just 2 hours before tip off.

This obviously did not sit right with the fans who had bought the tickets to watch Caitlin Clark in action. Clark apparently had stiffness in her back and hadn’t trained the day prior to the game. Fans alleged that Fever should have released a statement earlier. In Fever’s defense, they released an update as soon as Clark’s unavailability was confirmed.

Whatever may be the case, the WNBA was forced to send a warning to the Indiana Fever as they had broken the injury report regulations. They were reiterated that teams need to submit the report before 5 PM, one day prior to a game. However, when asked about that, Stephanie White had a candid but cryptic response.

“What is your reaction to getting a warning from the league as a team for danger report involving Caitlin?” Reporter James Boyd asked.

“My reaction is for what?” Stephanie White answered.

“To follow up to that, why is that your reaction?” Reported asked further.

“Because we did things the right way,” White said.

Then the reporter mentioned how she has asked the media to talk to the medical team whenever there is a question about medical updates. To which White just shrugged and said, “I’m sorry.”

Caitlin Clark defends Stephanie White and Indiana Fever over injury controversy

During the pregame interview, Caitlin Clark dismissed all theories that suggested a rift between her and the management. She mockingly and jokingly explained the smallest details of her two days before the game.

She explained how it is mostly about her health and her confidence on the day. If she is to step on the court playing for Fever, she wants to be 100% fit to do that. She also shared how she did have stiffness in her back but was still ready to play. Even her mom got to know that she wouldn’t play just 40 minutes before Fever announced it.
