Syracuse Christian Brothers Academy Poised for Another NYSPHSAA Class AA Title Run
The anticipation for the 2026 high school football season is building as official practices are set to commence in under two months. As part of their preview series, Rivals is spotlighting top teams across the nation, and today, we turn our attention to the defending champions of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Class AA, Syracuse Christian Brothers Academy (CBA).
Last season, CBA concluded their campaign as the No. 3 team in New York according to the final 2025 Massey Rankings. They are expected to be a dominant force in the upcoming season. A key player for the Brothers is quarterback Gradyn Dixon, a standout from the Class of 2027. Dixon showcased his exceptional skills last season, completing 70% of his passes for 1,884 yards, 26 touchdowns, and just four interceptions. In addition to his passing prowess, he contributed 236 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, demonstrating his dual-threat capabilities.
As CBA prepares for the new season, they will face a formidable opponent right away; their opener is against Iona Preparatory School on September 3rd at the JMA Wireless Dome. Despite a challenging start, predictions suggest that CBA will regroup and finish the season strong. Their recent schedule reveals a mix of competitive matchups, and they are forecasted to secure a 6-1 record heading into the postseason.
Other players to keep an eye on this season include wide receiver Javon Edenfield, defensive back Jhadon Gary, running back Austin Ariola, offensive and defensive lineman Juelz Burgos, and athlete Arthur Jones. The Brothers look to build on their successful championship run and aim for another title in the NYSPHSAA Class AA tournament.
